About me: I was born and raised in the heart of Sicily. It's the enchanting part of the island that you will visit with me. You will enjoy the natural, archeological and gastronomic beauties of a Sicily less known but definitely more authentic. You will feel immersed in the past, charmed by a myth which took place in this part of the island: the myth of Demeter and Kore which you will admire, masterfully represented, in some extraordinary archeological findings. You will be enchanted by the extraordinary mosaics of the Villa Romana del Casale, one of the most richest, largest and complete collection of late roman mosaics in the world. You will be astonished walking, tasting and discovering the local traditions which make these little towns so attractive. These places speak for themselves. I will add the passion I put into my work and the love for my land.
Carmen's impression on Sicily
“Without Sicily, Italy creates no image in the soul: here is the key to everything" . These were the words of the great writer Goethe during his trip in Sicily. Land of thousand contradictions, faces and identities… land of unheard beauty. In the collective imagination, Sicily is identified by its beautiful beaches, its sea side, the majestic volcano Etna, the picturesque Taormina, the Valley of the temples of Agrigento and other known attractions. But, there’s another Sicily. More hidden, made of curvy streets and mild hills, of breathtaking panoramas and bright colors, full of ancient traditions and tastes that characterize Sicily’s hinterland. This is the part of the island once consecrated to Demeter and Kore. Here we are in the heart of the myth.
